Last weekend the Karpeles Museum on Richmond hosted a livley fundraising party for Grassroots of Buffalo. The nonprofit community gardening group works to revitalize neighborhoods through the beautification of vacant land.
They function largely as a the liaison organization between the City of Buffalo administration the city's enthusiastic community gardeners. Whenever possible, GGB assists the gardeners' efforts through modest  resources including the distribution of plants, seeds and bulbs and other supplies.

We talked with Gail Garham, vice president of the organization.
