The Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York has inaugurated an artist-in-residence program with the goal of bringing cutting-edge contemporary artist to Buffalo to create art projects, events, and/or installations that will relate to and integrate the community - its people, its history, and its unique environment - into their work. Artist Ingrid Calame will launch this community-based initiative with a major project using imagery the artist will gather in and around the city and transform it into an exhibition installation at the Gallery beginning in January 2009.
