About Artvoice TV

Welcome to Artvoice TV. Our goal is to bring nearly our entire back catalog of video content back on-line, and to provide new and frequently updated video content of interest to Artvoice readers. We're still in the early stages of bringing this system on-line, so viewer feedback would be highly appreciated. If you run into any issues, find any errors, or simply have any ideas for features you'd like to see, please get in touch!

System Requirements

Artvoice TV is Macintosh (OS X) and Windows (98, 2000, XP, Vista), and Linux compatible. It is optimized for users of Firefox, however has been tested as working with Internet Explorer 6 & 7 on Windows, and Safari on Macintosh. It should work with most any modern browser with Javascript enabled, with the exception of Opera 9, which is not fully suppported at this time. Adobe Flash Player 8 or greater is also required for video playback - if you're a regular on the web, its almost guaranteed you already have this installed; however, you may download it for free here if needed (it wouldn't hurt to make sure you've got the latest version!) Video streams are served at mostly 400kbps, so you'll need a high speed connection such as cable or DSL at home, or from a typical corporate or educational LAN. A screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater is highly recommended!

Subscribe to Artvoice TV

Artvoice TV provides an RSS-compliant video feed that's automatically updated when new videos come available. This feed includes Yahoo! Media extensions, and has been primarily designed with Miro in mind. Miro is an open-source (aka, free!) piece of software that allows its users to aggregate video feeds from sites all around the internet in one central location. Once installed, Miro will keep tabs on your subscriptions (Artvoice TV of course, as well as any of the thousands of your chooosing available within the Miro guide), and will automatically download new videos when they're posted so they're ready to watch at your convenience without any delays, or even off-line. Miro is available for Macintosh, Windows, and Linux users. Check it out here.

Bookmarking & Sharing Video

Please use the "Add This" button placed on videos in order to bookmark individual videos in your own browser, to e-mail clips to friends, or share videos on the various social networking services around the Web, such as Digg, Facebook, Del.icio.us, and so on. (If you attempt to use the Favorites or Bookmark feature in your web browser, it will likely save the front page of the player to your list, but not necessarily a specific clip - so stick with the Add This button to make sure you're getting the proper "permalink"!)
